Yoga and Running, Designed to Complement Each Other

Do I need to be a serious trail runner?

Our runs are designed for beginner to intermediate trail runners who already have some experience on uneven terrain. As a guideline, you should be comfortable running for 3–5 hours and managing roughly 1,000 metres of elevation gain.

Good pre-trip preparation is important, as running in the Alps is typically more demanding than most other places with steeper climbs, higher altitude, and more technical trails.

We always tailour each day to the group. Distances, elevation, and technicality can be adjusted to suit varying fitness levels and confidence on the trails, ensuring everyone feels supported and challenged in the right way.

In short: you don’t need to be an elite mountain runner, just motivated, trail-curious, and ready for some big, beautiful days in the mountains.

What about the yoga?

You’ll explore how yoga can improve running form, enhance post-run recovery, and build the kind of functional strength that keeps you injury-resilient across long days in the mountains. The aim is not to turn you into a “yogi,” but to give you practical tools you can integrate into your training at home, simple and effective movement patterns that support your body through volume, vertical elevation gain, and varied terrain.

Across the retreat you’ll learn how yoga-based mobility can unlock range where runners tend to get tight, how breathwork can steady your mind on steep climbs, and how mindful movement can make your running feel smoother and more connected.

By the end of the retreat, you’ll have a clear understanding of how yoga complements endurance sport, enhancing recovery, reducing overuse tension, and helping you run with more freedom, strength, and longevity.

Chalet Belachat

Our elegant chalet for the retreat has been carefully selected to offer maximum comfort and a quiet haven from the bustle of the mountain resort of Chamonix Mont Blanc, while only being 15 minutes’ walk from the town centre. The chalet provides excellent access to the mountain trails on both sides of the valley. It has an outdoor hot tub set in an enclosed garden available for use throughout your stay. The bedrooms are on twin sharing basis, and we have 4 ensuite bathrooms throughout the chalet.

Healthy Eating

The quality of the food on the retreat is very important to us, and you will enjoy balanced and nutritious meals that have been selected to complement the retreat perfectly. Our aim is to present a new way of eating to you, which is packed full of flavours, textures and colours.

Although the food will be vegan, we don’t feel labelling it as such is helpful – it is just delicious food, presented to a high standard, with no animal products on the plate. We use organic and local produce wherever possible. Come with an open mind and an appetite for experience and you won’t be disappointed.

[ Testimonials ]

  • "Alistair went well beyond what I would expect from a guide, not only in terms of logistics and local knowledge, but in the quality of emotional presence, attunement, and grounded support that he offered individuals and the whole of the group. His ability to meet people where they were, and hold complexity with steadiness, warmth, and deep sincerity made the experience both accessible and expansive."

  • "Dear Alistair, what a beautiful person you are, such a team player. Kind and funny, but also clear and honest. I feel like you have so much self knowledge and little ego. I have had such a good time with you - the jokes, the gifts, the food, the conversations. I would love to visit Chamonix one day."

    Didi, Shambala Gatherings

  • "Alistair, we are truly grateful that you were our guide as we explored the Jungfrau region. Your experience and friendly nature made the whole trip so very enjoyable. This trip and the time we spent with you will be with us throughout our days. Thank you and with much appreciation."

    John and Eileen, USA

  • Alistair was my guide on an Alpine running trip last year. He was a major factor in the joy and memories I take from the trip. It’s not just his knowledge and experience in the mountains but he has a unique temperament that mixes adrenaline and adventure with calmness and deep conversation. He will be a major reason why I will keep coming back to the Alps each year.
